THE LAST 6 MONTHS

THE LAST 6 MONTHS

I am afraid that I have been amiss in posting and the only excuse I have is that my COPD raised it's ugly head and knocked me for a loop.  With the extreme heat, fires, Santa Ana winds and ash, it really bothered me.  But on to a few things I was up to.

This beautiful bouquet arrived the end of July for my Birthday from my sons girl friend.  She is a lovely woman and I hope they marry.

Shaun and Kim came down, took me to dinner and we visited for a while.  They were off to Newport Beach to spend the night and then the next day to San Diego.  Shaun put Kim on a plane to go home and he went out deep sea fishing. Always glad to see them.

BBQ with a few of my friends that I worked with at Amada.  We try to get together every few months.

Only two of the guys came and they were busy getting the BBQ ready.

My best friend Phyllis from Around Our House with her husband, Michael and Andrea who just graduated from college.  Andrea got her Masters Degree in Metal Health.  We had a great time.

Little Robin Rae on her first Birthday party in the park.  She is the granddaughter of the girl, Ginger who worked with me at Amada.  We have remained friends all these years.

Just a few pictures of my flowers that didn't do well with all the extreme heat we had this past summer.

Paper Whites

One of my lavender bushes

One of my favorite roses.

My room mate Kris and friend Teryl helped me decorate for Fall

Dining room table center piece

My new fall pillows which I found at Walmart

Now on to Christmas.............

My Candy and cookie tree in the dining room

Working on living room tree, only took me 3 days - had to rest alot.  Lili taking a nap by the tree, she like to look at it.

My snowmen display.

Shaun preparing for our Christmas dinner.

Skittles hoping that Shaun will drop something.

Kelly taking lessons at the horse ranch where she trains

Some of Kelly collection of Nutcracker and some I used for the center piece at dinner.

Kelly and Skittles opening presents

How cute is she?

Finished Christmas tree

My new chicken Christmas  ornament from Kelly

Well that's all for now, sorry this was such a long post.  Hopefully will have another one soon of my Spring flowers.

Wishing all of you a blessed Easter.

Mary

    1. Thanks so much to your kind comments. Yes, if your son is like my Shaun he is a wonderful young man. I raised him all by myself from 4 years old on and he was such a good boy and has turned into a beautiful man and wonderful father to Kelly. They have a special bond.

I think I have lost all my blogging friends - I waited to long to post.

Wishing you and your family a blessed Easter.

  5. Mary- I have away from blogging for a bit, too. It is so nice to see a post from you but sorry you have had so much trouble with your COPD. Shaun and his girl look like a perfect match. she is a very pretty girl.

It is fun to see your fall and Christmas decorations and Kelly on the horse. She is sure growing up and a pretty girl, too.

Your flowers are just gorgeous and your Spring decor looks beautiful. I know it is hard on you not to do all the decorating you used to do in the past but what you do today is equally beautiful.

Love to you and Happy, Blessed Easter. xo Diana

  11. It may have taken you a number of months, but I was so glad to see a new blog posting. It was well worth the wait, and a lot of fun to see what you have been up to. You shouldn’t feel the need to post a lot of pictures or text, just a few words and a photo every now and then would keep me happy. Your autumn table was stunning. I would have liked to have seen more. Spring is on the way, and I’m anxious to see more from you. Great post!

  13. Hi Mary! Lovely to catch up with you with all your goings on of the past six months! Your family time had to be at the top of your list of blessings, along with friends following a close second. Your garden looked good throughout the late summer/fall. Can't wait to see what comes next. Spring is taking its good ol time here! Believe it or not, I saw more Azalea advertised for a local estate sale (I didn't go). I couldn't believe it! I didn't even get to price it....just as well, right?

    I am praying for you.

  15. Mary,
I enjoyed this post seeing all your decorations!! I am so sorry to hear about your surgery. I have taken care of a few patients who had valve replacement done this way without having to open the chest. It is less invasive and provides a shorter recovery time for the patient. I will be praying for your safe and speedy recovery! Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by!! Take care, my friend and you will definitely be in my thoughts and prayers!
    Hugs,
    Debbie

  16. Mary,
I forgot to mention to THANK YOU for your prayers for my nephew. The colon cancer has spread to the liver but the aggressive Chemo that made him so ill did reduce the size of the liver lesions. He will be starting another round of that aggressive chemo soon and we pray it does not put him back in the hospital again like it did last time...
    Hugs,
    Deb

  18. Oh Mary, I just saw the prayer request for you on Diana's blog. I'm so sorry to hear this. I hope everything goes well with your surgery, and I am saying a prayer for you.

It looks like the flowers in your garden are starting to bloom. Spring has arrived here also, but it's supposed to rain this weekend. I loved seeing your candy tree and Nutcrackers even in April. Skittles is darling with her red bow. That chicken ornament is perfect for you.

How are your roses coming along? It's so nice to see a post from you again, Mary. I'm thinking of you tonight and wishing you well. Sending comforting thoughts and love to you. : )
