HURRAH FOR THE RED, WHITE and BLUE

Since I love the Fourth of July, thought that I would do a tablescape to honor our wonderful Country.

I decided to put this on my front patio with all the roses enclosing this little area.  Most of my dishes that I used I have had for a while.

The red charger plates I purchased at Marshall's about 4 years ago along with the bowls  The blue glass ware is from the Dollar Tree  for $1.00 each.

Meet Liberty - I found him at Michael's and he was $14.99, but with my 50% discount I got him for $7.50.  Don't you love it when  you find a great deal.  I danced all the way to the check out counter.  Not that I needed another rooster, but he was calling my name.

The table is set for 2 and I will be inviting my girl friend over for a early dinner so we can watch the fireworks from Disneyland.  During the summer they set off Fireworks almost every night, which gets to be a little much.

I made these napkins from material that I found in my stash and I put a white napkin with it to bring out the pretty design of the material.  I have enough left over to make a table runner or more napkins, as I only made four.  I also found this red/white check material which I made into a tablecloth.  I have enough material to make 4 napkins.

The white plates with the blue strip I found at SA for a $1.00 each.  They are nice and heavy plates and I felt that they would go with what I was trying to achieve for my tablescape.

My friend Phyllis from Aroundthehouse gave me the red silverwar and the little metal buckets, which go very well with the dishes.

I love the little flag pillow and it looks so good with my red throw and pillow.  Phyllis gave me the pillow many many years ago and I almost forgot that I had it. The little angel bear is guarding  all the decorations.

I made a wreath for the front porch with all red, white and blue flowers and decorations.  I have placed numerous flags in my flower pots on the porch.

Just a few of my flags flying in the breeze.  I must say that it was very hot here today.  What made it so bad is the humidity - which normally it is very low, but not today.  I though that I was going to melt.  No more tablescapes outside when it's hot,

I hope you have enjoy my little tablescape.  I would like to give thanks to all our military who keep us safe and sound - God Bless you all.

Waldo, Lili and I hope that you will leave us a comment as we love reading them and I try to answer all of my comments.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY to all of my blogging friends.

    1. Thanks so much Julie. I was so bloody hot today that I just could have screamed. We normally do not get high humidity, but today was a kicker. With COPD I have to be careful about being out in the heat and humidity. I'll probably be flat out tomorrow.
I had such a time making those napkins. I guess I purchase some CHEAP thread from Joanne's and it kept breaking. So finally I realized what the problem was, I dug around in my thread basket and found Coats and Clark and I had no problems from then on. that's what I get for buying cheap thread.
You stay cool also Julie. I will get my work done early and then stay in with the a/c on.

    1. Thanks Kris for your sweet comments. Yes, Disneyland does do a wonderful fireworks display, however during the summer it's every night and sometimes it gets very loud. My dogs are so afraid of the loud noise. I have to give them medication for about a month the end of June and beginning of July. With all the soccer games they shoot them off then also.
Have a great safe 4th of July.

  12. OOO, I, too, love the 4th of July. As a child, we had such fun with cousins and friends and neighbors. Homemade ice cream in an olden crank ice cream maker...with us kids sitting on top of the olden quilt on top. Homemade pies and cakes and fried chicken...sparklers and firecrackers...it makes me lone for my childhood again. HOWEVER, I have just as much fun, maybe more, watching my grands enjoy it all. :)

Your RED WHITE AND BLUE table, in your garden, looks beautiful.....

  15. Hi Mary, What a wonderful setting for the 4th. You created the most inviting and special space in your garden. I love your tablescape and all your wonderful treasures. The rooster was a great find and those blue glasses are perfect. What did we do before the Dollar Tree?? I love your porch. What a great inviting entry and the iron bench with your throw, pillow and bear is too cute. You just know how to pull it all together my friend.

When I first visited Anaheim CA. as a teenager, it was for a month from July into August and I remember the fireworks every night of my stay. It was amazing!!

Wishing you a wonderful 4th of July. Enjoy the fireworks!

  18. Mary,
Your red, white, and blue table is so festive for the Fourth of July. That rooster is wonderful. You know, I went to downtown Disney a few weeks ago, and I saw the fireworks that went off at night. I can't believe they shoot them off almost every night during the summer. I really like your chairs on your patio, they are so unique. I love the pillow that Phyllis gave you also.

Happy Fourth of July, Mary. Have a fun day with your friend.

  19. Hi Mary, Waldo and Miss Lili,

Hope you had a very Happy Independence Day! Mary, your tablescape is so vibrant and pretty; perfect for such a patriotic post! I especially love Liberty, the rooster, firstly because she is dazzling in her stars and stripes and secondly because she shares the same name as my daughter! You know that red is my favourite colour, so when present in checks, stripes, florals and polka dots, I am a very cheery girl! Hope you enjoyed your visit with your friend and saw some impressive fireworks to commemorate the occasion of your country's freedom!

Thanks for sharing and happy weekend!

  22. I'm gonna get ready for the 4th early next year. I love, love, love your patio tablescape. I love a checked tablecloth. It makes me think of July 4th and a picnic. Don't you just love The Dollar Tree. I have some things from there that I have yet to pull together. So glad you are following me. I have added you to my blog list of friends. I do think my blog buddies are my friends. When I call bloggers by their first name, she says, "Now who is that?" When I tell her its my blog friend, she rolls her eyes. I told her that not all bloggers are my age, 50+. She's funny.

  25. Oh my...this is all wonderful. What a perfect setting to enjoy an outdoor meal. Your rooster is so cute and so colorful, what a steal. I love it when that happens.

It has been hot here too and working in the garden is restricted to mornings by 12:00 I am tired, hot, sweaty and ready to come in!

I just found out that Roses of Yesterday and Today are back in business, I sent away for a catalog, I ordered many roses from them in the past but alas I have forgot most of their names. Still it will be fun to drool over the descriptions and perhaps I can squeeze in a couple new roses next year.

Your tablescape is so festive...Don't you love when we have fabric in our stash to make our tables look good? I know I do. Did you say you could see the Disneyland fireworks from your house? oh how awesome that would be for about one night. LOL Our dogs would be terrified.. and the humidity...wowzer..We have that high humidity every day here in Georgia. It does me in this time of year. Two showers a day is my limit so I have to plan my outside time carefully...oh my, the challenges of gardening... thanks for stopping by..
