Since I love the Fourth of July, thought that I would do a tablescape to honor our wonderful Country.
I decided to put this on my front patio with all the roses enclosing this little area. Most of my dishes that I used I have had for a while.
The red charger plates I purchased at Marshall's about 4 years ago along with the bowls The blue glass ware is from the Dollar Tree for $1.00 each.
Meet Liberty - I found him at Michael's and he was $14.99, but with my 50% discount I got him for $7.50. Don't you love it when you find a great deal. I danced all the way to the check out counter. Not that I needed another rooster, but he was calling my name.
I made these napkins from material that I found in my stash and I put a white napkin with it to bring out the pretty design of the material. I have enough left over to make a table runner or more napkins, as I only made four. I also found this red/white check material which I made into a tablecloth. I have enough material to make 4 napkins.
The white plates with the blue strip I found at SA for a $1.00 each. They are nice and heavy plates and I felt that they would go with what I was trying to achieve for my tablescape.
My friend Phyllis from Aroundthehouse gave me the red silverwar and the little metal buckets, which go very well with the dishes.
I love the little flag pillow and it looks so good with my red throw and pillow. Phyllis gave me the pillow many many years ago and I almost forgot that I had it. The little angel bear is guarding all the decorations.
I made a wreath for the front porch with all red, white and blue flowers and decorations. I have placed numerous flags in my flower pots on the porch.
Just a few of my flags flying in the breeze. I must say that it was very hot here today. What made it so bad is the humidity - which normally it is very low, but not today. I though that I was going to melt. No more tablescapes outside when it's hot,
I hope you have enjoy my little tablescape. I would like to give thanks to all our military who keep us safe and sound - God Bless you all.
Waldo, Lili and I hope that you will leave us a comment as we love reading them and I try to answer all of my comments.

A lovely tablescape and patriotic tribute. You certainly scored a deal on the handsome roo, too! Have a wonderful fourth! Jane
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your sweet comments. I was so happy with Liberty I could hardly contain myself. Not that I needed another Rooster - I have quite a collection. I said no more, but then I see one and it calls to me so I just have to have it. LOL
DeleteMary
Hi Mary, I love your table decorated for the 4th of July! I do hope you have a fun time with your friend! Your outside looks nice with the flags too. Your tablecloth and napkins are just perfect and you did a great job making them! Take care Mary and stay cool! It was 88 degrees today here very hot.
ReplyDeleteJulie
Thanks so much Julie. I was so bloody hot today that I just could have screamed. We normally do not get high humidity, but today was a kicker. With COPD I have to be careful about being out in the heat and humidity. I'll probably be flat out tomorrow.
DeleteI had such a time making those napkins. I guess I purchase some CHEAP thread from Joanne's and it kept breaking. So finally I realized what the problem was, I dug around in my thread basket and found Coats and Clark and I had no problems from then on. that's what I get for buying cheap thread.
You stay cool also Julie. I will get my work done early and then stay in with the a/c on.
Mary

God Bless all of those brave men and women who keep us free. Love your tablescape Mary so pretty. How fun you will see the fireworks right from your backyard. Have a great 4th.
ReplyDeleteKris
Thanks Kris for your sweet comments. Yes, Disneyland does do a wonderful fireworks display, however during the summer it's every night and sometimes it gets very loud. My dogs are so afraid of the loud noise. I have to give them medication for about a month the end of June and beginning of July. With all the soccer games they shoot them off then also.
DeleteHave a great safe 4th of July.
Mary
Your patriotic display is wonderful.
ReplyDeletethanks Carol, it was fun, but way to hot setting it up. Have a great 4th of July.
DeleteMary

ReplyDeleteThanks so much Nicole. It was fun searching for decorations and making some of them. Very time consuming to get everything right but so rewarding when finished.

ReplyDeleteThanks Phyl for always helping and being so supportive to me. It was a fun tablescape, but to HOT. Yes, I loved the napkins too. I have enough material left over to do a table runner or more napkins.
DeleteHave a Happy 4th.
Mar
OOO, I, too, love the 4th of July. As a child, we had such fun with cousins and friends and neighbors. Homemade ice cream in an olden crank ice cream maker...with us kids sitting on top of the olden quilt on top. Homemade pies and cakes and fried chicken...sparklers and firecrackers...it makes me lone for my childhood again. HOWEVER, I have just as much fun, maybe more, watching my grands enjoy it all. :)
ReplyDeleteYour RED WHITE AND BLUE table, in your garden, looks beautiful.....
Yes, I remember all those wonderful times also. Fried chicken, watermelon, sweet tea and of course biscuits. Yum yum - and the pies on my, I am making myself hungry thinking about all the wonderful down home cooking that was done.
DeleteHave a great 4th BJ
Mary
Mary,
ReplyDeleteThat is so pretty! You did a great job on the tablescape. I can't wait for the fireworks and fun the day brings.
Blessings,
Amy Jo
Thanks Amy jo for your sweet comments. I hope your not near the hurricane and that your weather is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th.
Mary
Hi Mary, What a wonderful setting for the 4th. You created the most inviting and special space in your garden. I love your tablescape and all your wonderful treasures. The rooster was a great find and those blue glasses are perfect. What did we do before the Dollar Tree?? I love your porch. What a great inviting entry and the iron bench with your throw, pillow and bear is too cute. You just know how to pull it all together my friend.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first visited Anaheim CA. as a teenager, it was for a month from July into August and I remember the fireworks every night of my stay. It was amazing!!
Wishing you a wonderful 4th of July. Enjoy the fireworks!
Hugs
What a pretty table, Mary! I love your cobalt blue glasses. I didn't realize you lived so close to Disney Land! Have a happy 4th and a fun time tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteSo festive! Happy 4th of July - I can tell the celebrations at your house are going to be so much fun.
ReplyDeleteMary,
ReplyDeleteYour red, white, and blue table is so festive for the Fourth of July. That rooster is wonderful. You know, I went to downtown Disney a few weeks ago, and I saw the fireworks that went off at night. I can't believe they shoot them off almost every night during the summer. I really like your chairs on your patio, they are so unique. I love the pillow that Phyllis gave you also.
Happy Fourth of July, Mary. Have a fun day with your friend.
love,
~Sheri
Hi Mary, Waldo and Miss Lili,
ReplyDeleteHope you had a very Happy Independence Day! Mary, your tablescape is so vibrant and pretty; perfect for such a patriotic post! I especially love Liberty, the rooster, firstly because she is dazzling in her stars and stripes and secondly because she shares the same name as my daughter! You know that red is my favourite colour, so when present in checks, stripes, florals and polka dots, I am a very cheery girl! Hope you enjoyed your visit with your friend and saw some impressive fireworks to commemorate the occasion of your country's freedom!
Thanks for sharing and happy weekend!
Poppy
Gorgeous, gorgeous! You table is set yo perfection. What a great job. Well done down to every detail.I must say o love the rooster too. I hope you had a wonderful 4th of July. Hugs to you my friend. Karie

ReplyDeleteThanks so much Marty. I love the rooster also. Hope your 4th was great.
DeleteMary
I'm gonna get ready for the 4th early next year. I love, love, love your patio tablescape. I love a checked tablecloth. It makes me think of July 4th and a picnic. Don't you just love The Dollar Tree. I have some things from there that I have yet to pull together. So glad you are following me. I have added you to my blog list of friends. I do think my blog buddies are my friends. When I call bloggers by their first name, she says, "Now who is that?" When I tell her its my blog friend, she rolls her eyes. I told her that not all bloggers are my age, 50+. She's funny.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about blogging friends. When I talk about them to my friends they look at me and ask where did you meet them at? They can't believe that I have made friends via blogging. Of course they do not blog so they don't have a clue. Well I am way past 50+ - this month I will be 79 and holding LOL
DeleteHave a wonderful week.
Hugs,
Mary
Your holiday table setting is very cute and I love that big buffalo checked tablecloth, that would be great year-round! Sounds like you're having a fun 4th of July weekend-enjoy:@)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Lynn. Love that Pig BBQ - have to get over to World Market and pick one up. Perfect for just one person - me.
DeleteI love the buffalo checked table cloth also.
Have a great week.
Mary
Mary, this is just too cute. Love, love the rooster! There is just something about the red, white, and blue that takes my breath away. We had a very hot 4th also. We don't have the humidity to deal with and it cooled down nicely in the evening. Thanks for sharing your wonderful tablescape with SYC.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
Oh my...this is all wonderful. What a perfect setting to enjoy an outdoor meal. Your rooster is so cute and so colorful, what a steal. I love it when that happens.
ReplyDeleteIt has been hot here too and working in the garden is restricted to mornings by 12:00 I am tired, hot, sweaty and ready to come in!
I just found out that Roses of Yesterday and Today are back in business, I sent away for a catalog, I ordered many roses from them in the past but alas I have forgot most of their names. Still it will be fun to drool over the descriptions and perhaps I can squeeze in a couple new roses next year.
What a pretty setting and I just LOVE your iron table and chairs!!
ReplyDeleteOh Mary your table setting for the 4th is so wonderful and so beautiful in your front garden setting...and how great that you are able to see the fireworks from Disneyland!!! Hope you had a grand 4th!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty and festive table Mary. The rooster is my favorite. How great that you get to see the Disney fire works. That has to be exciting for you and your friend. I hope your 4th of July was spectacular. Thanks for visiting me Mary. I do appreciate your visits. Your kind words always make me happy.
ReplyDeleteJanet
Looks great! Hope you had a wonderful 4th!! Laurel
ReplyDeleteI so love your table and the way you decorate, your newest follower. (from the Dedicated House)
ReplyDeleteKaren
Your tablescape is lovely and perfectly happy. I'm sorry to be a little late to admire it. But it was worth sweating over it!
ReplyDeleteHey Mary,
ReplyDeleteYour tablescape is so festive...Don't you love when we have fabric in our stash to make our tables look good? I know I do. Did you say you could see the Disneyland fireworks from your house? oh how awesome that would be for about one night. LOL Our dogs would be terrified.. and the humidity...wowzer..We have that high humidity every day here in Georgia. It does me in this time of year. Two showers a day is my limit so I have to plan my outside time carefully...oh my, the challenges of gardening... thanks for stopping by..
Love, Mona
Your tablescape for the 4th of July was so pretty! It must be fun to be able to watch fireworks every night from your own patio. My son would love that! I wish we had the nice weather you usually have. The humidity you experienced is here ALL summer in GA. Very uncomfortable to say the least. We can't do much outside until the sun starts going down.
ReplyDeleteLove your table-scape. And, if you love roosters, He is a Great one :) Enjoy! Blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteYou sure had the red, white and blue going on there / LOVE that rooster! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Mary, stopping back by to say hello and wish you a great weekend. Sure enjoyed seeing your summer celebration again and the lovely red, white and blue setting.
ReplyDeleteHugs and Blessings
I'm so glad I got over in time to see your tablescape...it's so cute and you really have pulled together a lot of neat pieces to make it festive. I noticed the little stone bunny on your patio..I'm a sucker for bunnies and statues!! I love the wreath on your door, too! You reminded me that I have 4 red and 4 blue salad plates somewhere. I should have brought them to the lake for the 4th!! Then again, hubby thinks I'm always dragging stuff up there that I don't want here! lol!
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend, sweetie!! :)
Jane xx
So glad that you liked my post. It was a fun one to do. I also love bunnies. I purchased most of these from Mexico when it was safe to go down there. I really need to make a trip back, but things are not that safe. The statuary is very reasonable there - I almost needed a moving van LOL
DeleteHave a great week Jane.
Mary

ReplyDeletethanks so much Judy for your sweet comments. It was a fun post to do. Had almost everything here - just shopped around the house. But I did have to purchase Mr. Liberty from Michaels, I did have a 50% coupon so he was a reasonable price.
ReplyDeleteYes, we did have some HOT weather, but nice the last week. I am sure it will change shorty.
Have a great weekend.
Mary
Mary, What a pretty tablescape! I love Liberty and what a great find he was.

Mary, first, I am SO delighted that you stopped by The Marmelade Gypsy. Susan was so kind to recognize me; it's been a delight to meet wonderful bloggers who are relatively new to me! And your tablescape is SO festive! I feel ready for fireworks already! I can only imagine all the work that went to creating not the table but the whole picture -- and I love it!
ReplyDeleteHi Mary, so nice to see you and thank you for stopping by while I was gone on vacation. Trying to catch up this week and little by little I am visiting everyone.
ReplyDeleteHope you are doing well and enjoying the last of summer.
Wishing you a great week.
