I thought it would be fun to show the tree really close up...sometime it's hard to see all the pretty ornaments from a distance,....
This is my newest ornament from my friend Teryl. She knows how I love chickens and roosters. Isn't Henny Penny beautiful.. I just love her.
Packages all wrapped for my granddaughter and son. I had to put them up on the bench because Waldo chewed the end off of one of them, didn't hurt the gift but I have to rewrap.
More ornaments - do you see the little gold baby - such a sweet face.
See the beautiful candle stick and red wine glasses on the coffee table - Phyllis from Around the House and I had our little gift exchange yesterday and that was her gift to me - they are simply beautiful. We had a grand time talking and munching on a few goodies. Of course we had some delicious wine too - it was very festive and such fun.
Here is a better picture of the candle stick and wine glasses
So there you have a few pictures of the ornaments on my tree - see the birds nest with eggs.

Beautiful, Mary. Your ornaments and that ribbon on your tree are so sparkly. They light up the tree as much as the lights. I would have loved to have been with you and Phyllis for your gift exchange. I know you girls had fun. What pretty wine glasses and candlestick. I love the toile upholstery on your bench. Merry Christmas to you and yours. laurie
ReplyDeleteThanks Laurie, yes we did have fun. Even though we talk to each other almost every other day we don't see one another. So it was wonderful to sit down and chat away, have some munchies and a great glass of wine. Phyl and I have been friends almost 45 years and she is like a sister to me. She is the one who got me interested in blogging which helped me so much. It gave me a purpose and I must admit I have met some wonderful people thru blogging. You know you are welcome anytime to my house - the door is always open.
ReplyDeleteWishing you and your a wonderful blessed Christmas.
Mary
Mary,
ReplyDeleteYour Christmas tree is simply beautiful. I love all the RED décor around your house I just gotta have my RED at Christmas time. I really like the candlestick holder and red wine glasses that Phyllis gave you. Everything looks so festive and nice. I'm glad you showed us close ups of your ornaments, as it's hard to see all the lovely ornaments from far away. I always have a smile on my face whenever reading one of your posts.
Merry Christmas to you, dear Mary, and I hope you are filled with love and peace on this special day. Enjoy your son and Granddaughter!
Love,
~Sheri

Everything is just beautiful. It is too bad you will not be home to enjoy your decor, but being with your son and granddaughter will be wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI'll only be gone until the 26th and will leave everything up until after January 1st. After all that work I;m in no hurry to take it down.

Poppy
Thanks Poppy, I'm so looking forward to seeing my granddaughter. Kelly is 11 years old and growing up so fast. Haven't seen her since August. I'm driving up so it should be an adventure. I'll probably look like the Beverly Hills Hillbillies with all the stuff I am taking up. LOL.

My Granddaughter lives in Redwood city now. I lived in Redwood city when I first married Pat and I loved it. I loved San Francisco too. What a great and adventurous city it is. I had the greatest time there..saw a few famous people..Marilyn Monroe for one. :) Enjoy yourself...and Merry Christmas, my friend!

Your tree is so pretty, Mary! I love your bird's nest ornament! And the gift of wine glasses and candlesticks was so thoughtful! They are gorgeous! I had to laugh when you mentioned Waldo chewed a corner of a gift box! I still haven't put any wrapped packages (or tree skirt!) under our tree, I think the temptation would just be too great for little Katie! Have a wonderful Christmas, and a safe drive tomorrow!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Donna. I'll drive safe - decided not to leave until Sunday and hopefully there won't be as much traffic. I was really surprise that Waldo did that LOL. Give Katie hugs... she is such a cutie.

Mary, thank you for your kind visit to my blog. Dillon Cooper's Christmas was wonderful. Of course, like all children, he loved the boxes and the wrapping paper the best! Well, almost. He did get one of those cars with the handle for someone to push him (like a stroller car). He sat in it most of Christmas day, and if someone didn't push him, we heard about it! As long as he was being pushed, he was grinning ear-to-ear and babbling to all who would listen. He is such a blessing to our family, and I appreciate you asking about him. He will be having out-patient surgery the end of Jan. to remove about 30 hemangiomas. Most will be removed by laser, but at least one (on his face) will require surgical removal. Because his lungs were damaged by the oxygen he was on for four months, anesthesia is always scary, but he's already had 2 surgeries and has done great. He's an amazing little fighter. Wishing you a very happy new year! laurie
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely tree...your close-up photos were wonderful in their detail & gorgeous colors!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a safe trip to San Jose...never been there.
Wishing you a happy & HEALTHY 2014!!
Your red couches are such a bonus for the holidays..
ReplyDeleteLots of love and care went into that tree..
All the very best..our tree is up too:-)
Hi Mary! Hope you had a nice weekend and thank you for popping in to see me.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,

I had an aunt and uncle that lived in San Jose back in the 50's. I rode the train from Texas to see them a couple summers...my cousin and I had so much fun together. Love San Jose...
ReplyDeleteLove your RED sofa, too.....:))
One of the most beautiful christmas ornaments I've ever seen !
ReplyDeleteGreat decorations! Since my girls were little my husband buys each of them a small tree decoration. This yr (since they are grown) he told them it was the last one. LOL they screeched noooo. I guess they never grow up.
ReplyDeleteHello, and thanks so much for visiting me and your sweet comments about my calendar - turned - gift tags. I love all your Christmas decor and your red sofa. I used to have a red sofa that had a large floral print, I never really missed until now, seeing yours! Red is my favorite color, you see. Happy New Year to you, following you on GFC! -Dawn @ We Call It Junkin.com
ReplyDeleteMary, to answer your question.......It is the Culver Hotel, and it is in Culver City. Isn't it delightful? We had such a fun time looking all around. The bathrooms are so charming and very clean too. Thank you for asking. I hope the new year is being good to you.

Mary, I am so glad you had a festive gift exchange with a fellow blogger. I am jealous. Your house certainly was a pretty venue for your get together. Love your tree. I bought a birdsnest ornament after Christmas. Hope it is warm at your house. We are having another little cold spell.Last year I never wore my big coat or winter pajamas. Pulling all the warm clothes out this year.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a fantastic holiday - the close-up view of the ornaments was a great idea - they are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI hope your Christmas was fabulous! The girls are doing great they'll be 3 in March... the boys are quieter and a couple are getting to be quiet old men.... I had a dog named Frank, he hated the rain (such a bad plan in Seattle) when I potty trained him as a pup I would stand outside with an umbrella he would stand on my feet... he was a complete brat :-)
Have a Great Week...
Hugs,
Bella
