WELCOME TO MY CHRISTMAS HOME

Welcome to my home.  I didn't do as much this year as I usually do, but I ran out of time, due to my computer getting a virus

This is my Candy and Cookie tree in my kitchen along with the Santa's that have been decorating the tree.  They have been so busy ....

The Nutcracker wanted to help decorate also.

This wreath on my back coordinates with my tree in the kitchen.

This year I wanted to do something different on my tree, so I decorated the tree all in red ornaments and red birds.

I didn't put out all of my Santa's, just a few of my favorites. The Candy Santa is sitting on my desk.

This Santa was made by my very best friend Phyllis and he is my favorite.

My new center piece that I got at Michael's, 70% off, plus another 25%.  I danced all the way to the checkout counter.  I also purchased a new pillow at 70% off with another 25%.  I had a very productive shopping day.

That's the pillow I purchased at Michael's, the red with snow flakes,

Just a few of my Santa's, I can't get to the rest of them as that would require me getting on the ladder and I have had orders from headquarters, DO NOT GET ON A LADDER

I am having a love affair with Snowmen, they are just so darn cute....... so I put them all together.

The tall one just jumped into my cart Saturday when I was at Albertson's buying groceries.   I just couldn't tell him no, so home he came with me.  The one to the left lights up, so cute.

Waldo loves to have his picture taken and he followed me all over while I was snapping photo's.  He is getting so old, but he is still frisky.

My dining room table all decorated for the holidays.  I see one of the elf's sitting by a candle.

I got the placemats at the Dollar Tree for $1.00 each, they are made of felt with glitter around the edges.  The table runner and napkins were a gift to me for my Birthday from Phyllis.

The elf's have taken over the chandler, oh my.....

My Santa and Christmas Tree cookie jars.  The Christmas Tree is a Christopher Radko and the snowman is from Target.  I have had them for about 10 years.

My antique door with snowmen on the wreath

My arrangement on the hutch.  All of the ribbon matches the tree and wreath

My front porch with a few antique items-  the wagon, bike and chicken feeder

My old sled that I found leaning up against a tree, just waiting to go home with some one.  I asked the people that lived there and they didn't want it.  Even helped me put it in my car.

My wreath on the front door and another snowman..... oh my, they are taken over LOL

Hope you liked the tour of my cottage  Now I will be baking a few goodies to take up to my son's.
I am going up there to spend Christmas with him and my granddaughter.  So I can't wrap my gifts as I am traveling by plane.  Will do that when I arrive.

I wish all of your a wonderful MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR.  Safe travels to all of you.

Mary, Waldo and Lili

THIS AND THAT CATCH UP

THIS AND THAT CATCH UP

WOW where does time go to?  Just a few things that I have been up and some of my Fall decorating.

I went back to "Through The Garden Gate" and took a friend and she almost fainted seeing all the beautiful Christmas decorations.

The theme this year seems to be Snowmen

These pillows where stunning and I loved them, but a little pricey

Don't you just love this little fairy .

I just love this  - she was beautiful

This area had all white, gold and silver decoration, oh so pretty

Now on to some Santa's .........

I took my friend Teryl to Green Thump Nursery to see their decorations.  They were almost finished, running a little slow with their Open House.

WOW so many Snowmen waiting to go to their new home.

This is a bad photo, but had to show you the feeding frenzy of my Hummingbirds.  It was almost dark and they their were storing up food for the night. I have counted 20 hummers feeding from my feeders

Now on to my Fall decorations - didn't do much this year,  I can't get on a ladder, orders from my son.
So I did get up on the ladder and my 88 year old friend stood behind me.  LOL

Top of my hutch

Center piece on my dining room table

My beautiful Waldo.  He is 12 years old and I do love him so.  He follows me everywhere in the house or garden.

This past Saturday the City of Fullerton Parks and Recreation, North Western  Mutual and KaBoom
completely renovated Gilbert Park.  The park is at the end of my street.  All neighbors pitched in to complete the park with new equipment for the children.  There must have been a 100 volunteers to complete this project.  So I was a volunteer for "PLAYGROUND BUILD DAY 2016"
CHANGING LIVES - PROCEED WITH LOVE

The volunteers were put into different groups and the sign on the name tags placed you in that group.
Here I go with my walker to see what job I could help with and I was put into the painting group.
This lady is from Washington DC  with a non profit group getting us charged up to start the project.
I have to tell you what a wonderful sight to see so many parents and children there to help get this program finished.

We were given breakfast buritos and coffee and then for lunch the Slidebar provided Street Taco for all with beans and rice.

Here I am painting up a storm.  We had 65 12x12 wooden piece to paint front and back and then go back and put sayings and pictures on them - WOW what a job.  But we got it completed.

Santos my helper from the Parks and Recreation Department.  We also had another man helping who was in a wheel chair.

The plaques that will go on the fence - I believe that we painted 65 plaques.

This sign will say GILBERT PARK

Some of the men taking cement to the equipment.

I walked over their this morning to see what we had accomplished and I must say it looked really good.  They still have the storage containers to remove and the playground was fenced off until the cement sets.  But I must say CHEERS TO ALL THAT HELPED.

Today I am a little sore, but feel so good helping - not bad for a 81 year old lady.

Hope you leave a comment so Waldo Lili and I can read them.

I'VE BEEN AWAY TO LONG

Don't faint, but here I am with a blog.  Just a few things I have been up to and to share with you.

A couple of weeks ago my friend Phyllis and I went to lunch at a wonderful Mexican restaurant and next door there was the BEST gift shop I've seen in a long long time.  Everything was drop dead beautiful.  Of course, it was decorated to the hilt with Christmas trees, ornaments, Santa's and everything else you could think of.  It's called  Through The Garden Gate it's in La Habra, CA  I hope this will give you some ideas..... I know I have lots going through my head.

He was the most beautiful decorate owl that I have ever seen.  Now on to some more pictures.
Better get a glass of wine or coffe as it's a little long post.

I just loved the Gingerbread and Peppermint Tree - I wanted the whole tree with all the decorations.

Isn't she just the cutest
The Santa was just a little to skinny for me, I like big chubby ones.

Gingerbread trains and look at all the faux cookies and cupcakes.  WOW
Isn't she just the cutest

Gingerbread faux houses of all sizes and forms

All the beautiful garland around the mirror - very nice display.

A small tree with pretty ribbons, Santa's and Elf's on it.

Do you see all the doggies on this tree?  It was so darn cute with bones and dogs.

The pillows were stunning, but very expensive.

Wouldn't this been cute Christmas morning set on the table with Coffee, Tea and Hot Chocolate?

Do you see the Elves climbing up this picture frame from the tree?  It was so unusual.

A little better picture of the tree, pillows and frame.

Now you get a full picture of the picture frame with all the decorations around.

This wreath was simply beautiful all in creams and white. Thought of Kris in Chicago land with her beautiful home of creams, and white.

Isn't this the craziest tree you ever seen, it is upside down with the presents  up at the top.  Guess it would be great if you had little children and they were into everything.

Oh so pretty in silver and white.

This is the view when I first walked into the store, my eye's glazed over and I felt like I was in a dream.  Everything was so beautiful.  I have to say, I have been to a lot of stores, but this one is the best one of seen in years.  I asked the lady at the store who decorated them and she said that there were 15 people who did it all.  They did not leave one thing undone.

Lots of one of a kind Santa's all over the store, but a little to thin for me.

Needs more padding.....

I liked the black and white ribbon on this tree, I will be going back to get some, if it's not too expensive.

To cute...

Snow men all over this tree and on the floor.

I thought that I was going to have a heart attack when I saw all the jewels on this stunning ribbon.

Lots of little Santa's all over this tree.

Off to a great lunch with my friend Phyllis at El Cholo which is next door to gift shop.

Here we are, boy was I hungry after all that shopping.  It was a belated Birthday lunch from Phyllis
as her back was out on my Birthday.  Now I have to find something special for lunch with her because her Birthday is the following Monday.

The following week I took a friend to Shinoda's and Rogers Gardens.  I was so disappointed at their decorations that I took very few photo's.  I need to take her up to Through The Garden Gate, maybe next week.

No pictures from Shinoda's and here is a couple from Rogers Gardens, very disappointing.

Almost all of  trees were tinsel trees and very modern.  I didn't like them at all.  They had them in red, green, silver and gold very retro.  I understand that it is the hot item now.

These pillows were needle point and they had lots and lots of pumpkins.

That's what I have been up to.  And how was your week?

Have a wonderful weekend and please let me know if you like this post.  We, Waldo, Lili and I love reading them.
