I started all of these sun flowers from seeds and they like the hot dry weather.
This one is going to have lots of Sunflowers, such a pretty shade of orange.
This one is almost black - it's stunning.
These are smaller with lots of flowers on them.
Sunflowers always make me happy as they look like they have smiling faces.
Now on to just a few of my roses that are doing okay -
These are a soft lavender and smell so good.....
This is a pale creamy white rose and the smell is heavenly.
You are probably wondering what on earth is this flower. It's a heirloom tobacco plant, and the smell comes out at night and they can grow to 6 feet tall.
They spread quite easily and I have them coming up all over the back yard.
So here are a few of my favorite flowers. Love to sit in the garden and take in all their beauty. I really hope with all my heart that I don't loose my roses. I found one bush dead this morning. That's two this summer. So please pray that God send us some rain. I don't care about the lawn, but I do care about the flowers.
Looking forward to reading all your comments.

I always smile when "I see the Sunflowers - they make me happy. I had never seen that dark Sunflower either. The package came with 4 different kinds of seeds. So Zoie, Kevin and I started them and they turned out really good.
DeleteThanks for stopping by Jemma and leaving your kind comments.
Have a terrific weekend.

Hi Mary, wow what pretty sunflowers and roses. The dark one is different and unique as I've never seen that kind before. Sunflowers are one of my favorites too. The roses are nice too and i love the yellow peach one. I do hope you get some rain so that the flowers will not die. Take care and have a nice day and weekend.

Your sunflowers are wonderful, your right that black one is stunning ~ and I also like your roses! Such pretty colors.
ReplyDeleteWhat a FUN post! I am an avid gardener, but since moving have pretty much limited myself to container gardening on the deck. Still, I have a big blue ceramic pot just loaded with giant red zinnias. It never occurred to me, though, to grow sunflowers. I love them so, and the colors are so diverse. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteLove your sunflowers. I've never seen a black one - gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteJudy
Love your Lavender Rose the color is so pale and soft.
ReplyDeleteHope the rain comes soon.

Mary, love your unique sunflowers! I didn't get any new ones in this year and all of them that came back are just small. I hope you don't lose anymore roses! I thought that looked like a Nicotiana plant.

Jann
That black sunflower gave me pause Mary. I've never seen nor heard of them,,but they're quite stunning!
ReplyDeleteWe've had lots of rain here in Massachusetts. In fact,me haven't been able to get some yard work done because of it. Hardly two days go by without it. If I was able, I'd send some your way gladly!
Thanks for stopping by my blog the other day. I tried to visit you via your comment but received a 404 error message then remembered you were a friend of Julie's too so came here that way. Hope to see you again!
Have a great weekend.

Mary, your sunflowers are stunning. I saw some when I was driving the other day on a country road, and had to take a pic of them. Aren't they so cheerful? And your roses are always beautiful. Oh, I do hope we get some rain. We surely need it here in California. I love that soft lavender rose, I've never seen a rose that color before.
ReplyDeleteTry to stay cool, Mary. California can get hot in the summer, as you know.
love, ~Sheri

ReplyDeleteMary, oh, how I love sunflowers. Yours are just beautiful and I planted some a few years ago and they didn't grow well at all, so now I just buy them at the grocery store. Your roses are gorgeous and I sure hope that you will keep all of them. I've seen the Tobacco Plant before and smelled it too. Just lovely. I envy you your beautiful and versatile garden and hopefully we will have some rain that will help to keep it that way..Happy Wednesday..Judy
