Fall started last Wednesday, but, forgot to tell Southern California. The drought and triple temperatures are terrible. So, how can we think about Fall only to wish that Mother Nature would come to our rescue.
So some of you are beginning to experience Fall. Falling leaves, a warm cozy fire in the fireplace, hot coffee, tea or chocolate. Cuddling up with a warm cashmere throw, adding comforters to make a nice warm bed. I found a store that has wonderful bedding called the Parachute Company, in Venice, CA" Check out their lovely linens. I am not being compensated in anyway - just wanted to share.
I love watching all the beautiful leaves falling from the trees, squirrels gathering their nuts and seeds for winter.
I have decorated the house, patio and front porch with my pumpkins, mums and fall decorations. But, no additional blanket or throws on the bed. However, they are ready as soon as our temps start going down. I love to snuggle down under the comforter and sleep so much better.
I wanted to share a few of the Fall decorations that I have placed around the house - hope you like them.............
Love the Candy Corn and Jelly Beans with the gourds and mini pumpkins.
Added Fall on top of my hutch.
Some more Fall on top of the Secretary with lights for night.
A little flower arrangement from Michael's many years ago sitting on the desk.
Pumpkins and candles on my coffee table. Trader Joe's has amazing pumpkins of all different shapes, sizes and colors.
Wreath, leaf shaped dish and pumpkin platter on my table behind the couch.
So there you have it, just a little Fall in Southern California.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope that you leave a comment. I just love reading all of them and I do try to answer all of them. Happy Fall.

I feel so badly for those of you in CA with this sustained drought. Your decor sure looks inviting, though, and a nice place to be. I hope you soon get relief.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Rita C. at Panoply
Thanks so much for you kind comments. Yes, it is still hotter than a fire cracker here. Feels a little cool when I look at the Fall decorations.
DeleteMary
Hi Mary. Fall is looking very pretty around your home. I love the touches that you have put on the tops of your cupboards. It is getting scary that there doesn't seem to be an end in sight of this horrible weather..but we will just have to endure..Happy Tuesday..Judy
ReplyDeleteSo glad that you like mine Fall decor. I had fun when decorating and kinda made me feel cool.
DeleteNo there doesn't seem to be any relief in sight, at least not until November, unless Mother Nature changes her mind.
Mary
Mary I hear you, living in Philadelphia the city oftentimes in Fall seems to stay warm like an Indian Summer and before you know it one day the central air is humming away and then the following day heat needs to be turned on. Often changes over night. I love all your decorations and your vignettes that reflect all essence of fall in the color's and hues of Autumn I simply adore.
ReplyDeletexo,
Vera
Thanks so much Vera. I enjoyed decorating for Fall as I love the colors and they go so well with my red couch and yellow toile. Hoping that Mother Nature changes her mind and give us rain and cooler weather.
DeleteMary
I love your Fall décor around the house. The cornucopia centerpiece is gorgeous! Love all the hues for this lovely time of year. Hope your temps get a little cooler, I'm sure it'll be sooner then later!
ReplyDeleteHappy Fall,
FABBY
I also love the cornucopia. I got that at a Chef;s Table at the Hyatt Hotel many years ago. They invited all the best accounts for a Thanksgiving Dinner, which was amazing and I got to keep the center piece. Of course it had beautiful Fall flowers in it. Now I just use sunflowers, pumpkins, gourds, leave garland and apples - the fake ones.
DeleteHave a great weekend.
Mary
Your fall decorations are so fun, colorful and festive...I bet they make you feel a tiny bit cooler indoors! You have such a great decorating talent. Love, love, love everything!
ReplyDeleteI pray the cooler temps come soon to you. And some rain. Sincerely praying---all of us in the Midwest and yonder.
Take care.
Jane x
Thank you so much for the wonderful comments and that you liked my post. I do love all the colors of Fall and you can leave them up for so long. When it's Halloween, I just add some scary things and then afterwards, just take them out.
DeleteSounds like you had an amazing time on your vacation. So many wonderful places to stay at and shopping WOW.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.
Hugs
Mary
I love your fall decorating. The jars look so pretty filled with candy corn and pumpkins. You have the cutest pumpkin dishes I have seen. We have returned to summer here too with temps in the 90s for a few days.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your comments - so glad you liked my Fall decorations.
DeleteI thought we were over the heat, but no - no let up in sight. Really bothering my COPD.
Have a great evening.
Mary
I love all of your fall decor, Mary! I understand about the temps though, we are still in the 100's as well and it doesn't look like it will change any time soon. But, I suppose we take the good with the bad, soon, our friends will be complaining about the snowy cold weather and we will be enjoying the perfect seasonal norms for the desert southwest and California inland areas! Have a super rest of your week! Blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Cindy for your sweet comments. You are right, I talked to my cousin in VA and she was fussing about it getting cold. LOL
DeleteHave a great weekend.
Mary
Hi Mary,
ReplyDeleteWell, fall may be at fault by not showing up on time in your neck of the woods, but you certainly are ready when it does decide to make its grand entrance with all your pretty décor! I always love your credenza displays by the window, the way the sunlight shines its stuff on all those delicious goodies. How cozy you will be with your autumnal routine of hot cocoa and warm covers, to cocoon in the crisp and cool days that are upon you!
Happy fall, my friend!
Hugs,
Poppy
Thanks for stopping by Poppy and your sweet comments. Still no relief in sight and not in the near future. But looking at all the pretty Fall decorations gives me hope that some day.
DeleteHave a wonderful Fall weekend.

Your decorations are beautiful! Though it's blazing hot outside, your home summons images of hot tea, tartan blankets, swirling leaves, pumpkins, and crisp evenings. Hope you have a wonderful rest of the week. xxoo
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by. I just love Fall and all the pretty decorations this time of the year. Now if we would just get some cooler weather, it would be perfect.
DeleteHave a great weekend.
When are you moving into your beautiful new home?
Mary
Wonderful fall decor. I especially love the top of the hutch and secretary. Gorgeous! It puts me in the moos for Fall. We haven't had much relief here on the East Coast weather wise either. I was in the pool Tuesday, and the air con is on now. Very humid. I'm just going with the flow. If the last few years are anything to go by it will be plenty cold soon enough. Visiting from SYC. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Susan. Yes, I do love Fall if the weather would ever change here. It would be wonderful for some crisp cool temperatures.
DeleteHave a wonderful weekend.
Mary
Fabulous fall decor. I just love this season. This is such a wonderful and inspirational post. I would love it if you would share it at our WIW Linky party today. Hope you can join us!

Mary
Thanks for the great comments. I have tried 5 times to load the post into your link-up but it keeps coming back an error. I was able however, to load my Christmas show one. Sorry, I did try.
ReplyDeleteMary
I almost missed this post, Mary! I've not been blogging as much as usual for the past several months. Anyway, I love your fall displays, and am crazy about your apothecary jars! How fun filled with Halloween candy! I also really like your wreath in the last photo. I have been lazy about decorating for fall this year. You sure have been busy!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad that you liked my post. I love Fall, but it is really hard to gt into the mood when it's in triple digit numbers. I don't think I will ever be able to wear my fall/winter clothes. LOL
DeleteHave a great weekend. Hugs to Katie, how is she?
Mary
Hats off to you and all the care and love you take of your home..
ReplyDeleteI just read your post about your outing to the decorations:) I remember you went last year too..If ever you decide to bottle and sell your energy..plse think of me..make sure it can be shipped to Canada;)
I am afraid that I don't have that much energy as I used to. It takes me forever to accomplish some tasks.
DeleteSo glad that you liked the post.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Mary
So glad that you liked the posts. I love my home very much and now that I am retired I can spend more time in it. Never could when I worked as I traveled so much.
DeleteI hardly have any energy anymore - but when I worked it was full speed ahead. Now I clean or work a while and set down for a few and get back up and finish. LOL
Have a terrific dear friend.
Mary
Very beautiful Mary! I especially love the arrangements on top of the hutch and secretary. I hope it cools down for you soon!! We have been sleeping with our window open and it has been heavenly. We received rain Sat. and Sun. and really needed it as well. Wish I could send it your way my friend! Thanks for sharing with SYC.

Thanks for stopping by Jann and so glad that you liked my Fall decor. Stop by and see the Christmas show it will blow you away.
DeleteHave a terrific week.
Mary
I'm so sorry about your weather, this can't be good for nature or your garden to have no rain. Your fall decor is perfect though and Nature should be inspired by you to give you a real fall!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by. Glad that you liked my Fall decorations. We received a trace of rain and cooler weather. However, the weatherman said tonight that by the weekend it will be triple digits again.
DeleteEnjoy your cool breezes of the coast.
Mary
Mary, your home looks so nice and welcoming with all the colors of the Autumn season. I love your hutch, and I've always preferred the dark wood furniture. Your glass jars of candy corn and jelly beans are sweet. I was just thinking today that I wanted to get the candy pumpkins. The season's not the same without them. Your coffee table looks festive, and your red couch looks cozy and elegant.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing a bit of Fall around your house. By now, you must be feeling some gentle breezes in the morning.
love, ~Sheri
by the way, I didn't realize you did another post. I would have come over sooner. I love your posts, and they are so fun to look at.
Delete~Sheri
Oh so glad that you liked it.
DeleteMary
What a beautiful Fall table you created. I guess it is hard to think about Fall when your temps are in the triple digits....When I was in CA, the temps were reasonable....but then again, spent most of our time in the Monterey area....Love the buffet with the great containers of candy...I would be too temped to eat it all! Hope it cools down for you soon!...and must say that I love all of your beautiful and creative arrangements you have throughout the house.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Shirley, so glad that you liked everything. Love all the Fall colors.
ReplyDeleteMonterey is beautiful and I love it up there and is much cooler than in So CA.
Have a great week.
Mary
